If you are looking for a special dessert, one that celebrates your event with elegance and great flavor, this is it:  PIZZA DOLCE, or SWEET PIZZA in English, a traditional, delightful cake from Italy's Abruzzo region.
Pizza Dolce is made with a light, delicate sponge cake infused with liquor - mostly Alchermes or Rum - and filled with a trio of creams - vanilla, chocolate, and almond. This time, I chose to decorate it with some chocolate sprinkles on top and a layer of sliced almonds all around.
